President Muhammadu Buhari is set to transmit the
highly anticipated ministerial list to the Senate
till Wednesday, September 29.
It should be recalled that the country leader has on
several occasions vowed to announce his cabinet in
September.
With only several days left before the end of the month,
Buhari reiterated his commitment to appointing the
officials in the nearest future. According to Leadership,
the Nigerian leader made this known through his media
aide Femi Adesina in New York over the weekend.
Adesina assured the public that Buhari is the man who
keeps his promises. Another presidential adviser Garba
Shehu also urged Nigerians to patiently wait for soon-to-
be announced list.
“The president had said it twice that he would submit his
ministerial list to the National Assembly in September. As
you can see, that position has not changed.”
It has been learnt that President Buhari might sent the
ministerial list to the Senate on Tuesday, when the Red
Chamber is set to resume sitting after recess. This was
disclsoed by an official source who pleaded for
anonymity.
Nigeria’s number politician has been harshly criticised
over the delay in appointing the cabinet. The presidency,
however, insisted there should be no rush in making such
important decisions.
Based, on the appointments made so far in various
sectors, there are fears that regarding the ministerial
seats, Buhari will giver preference to the candidates from
the North.
